What is Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is an online crowdfunding platform for people to bring their ideas to life and out into the market.
Entrepreneurs create campaigns of their ideas with the goal of receiving enough investment to launch their business. People who financially contribute or invest in these campaigns are known as âbackersâ. They are people like you who support the business in exchange for ârewardsâ. Simply put, rewards are the products you see in the campaigns, and backers get the advantage of discounted rates in return for their early support, as well as exclusive offers only available on Kickstarter. In our case, we offer up to 40% off exclusively to our Kickstarter backers, who get to wear our shirts first before being released into the market. (Yay!)
Each campaign has its own funding goal, and the amount of investment from backers will only get charged once the funding goal has reached 100% within the time limit set by the creator.
Think of it as a way of pre-ordering an early release of a product ahead of the market, without paying the full retail price.

Why Kickstarter?
In a world where the outdoor clothing industry is so saturated, thereâs little room for new companies to breathe among this crowded space.
Using traditional methods of getting funding from investors can potentially create certain restrictions within our business in the long run, which often steer toward the profit margins direction, rather than what is important to us at Seadon - to create high-quality trail goods sustainably and ethically.
Cutting costs by using cheaper materials that have a lasting negative effect on our planet, in return for a higher profit margin, just doesnât sit right with us, no matter the investment. Besides, weâre not too keen on Powerpoint presentations either!
Kickstarter has allowed us to showcase our products and vision to an open platform, where we are able to collaborate with like-minded folks to build our products based on your feedback. You, and others in our community, have a real say in how we do things, and form an important part of the development process. In short, we are able to customize our products (also known as ârewardsâ on Kickstarter) and have a more tailored experience for our community, while getting the funding needed for us to build and grow our company organically. It has and will always be about the journey for us, and we hope you will join us on this campaign!

What is your exchange & refund policy?
Cancel Anytime: If for any reason, you decide to change your mind on your order during this campaign, you are able to cancel and receive a full refund, no questions asked.
15 days risk-free return: If you are not 100% satisfied with the quality of the product upon receiving it, you can return it within 15 days and we will offer to replace the product. If that doesnât work out, just send it back and we will offer a full refund.

Do you offer economical shipping?
We offer a reduced shipping rate worldwide at HK$ 45 (under US$ 6) and FREE worldwide shipping with orders over HK$ 620 (US$ 80).
We ship mainly from our warehouse in Hong Kong. We also have a warehouse in the US for returns and currently setting one up in Europe (to be confirmed in our updates). Additional taxes could apply depending on each countryâs duties regulation.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backersâfrom shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaignâs project teamâBackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesnât work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkitâ in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the projectâs status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
