What a Year! Thank You.

Hello Trailblazers, 

It is almost the end of 2020 and I am sure we can all agree that this year has been quite the challenge, and maybe not what we hoped for back in 2019. Myself included - I remember thinking to myself, '2020 is going to be THE year!'. We had just finished shooting our new Kickstarter video in New Zealand. Our team was energized after a well-deserved break. Our samples turned out perfect and we were super happy with the quality achieved throughout our operation. We had planned our supplier visits for the year. We went through a branding process and cemented our mission.  All the hard work from 2019 was about to come together in our second Kickstarter campaign in March... and then, the pandemic hit in January, followed by worldwide social injustice, health crises and economic hardships. Suddenly, the world turned upside down and there was more uncertainty than ever before, with new and unexpected challenges.  

As a sustainable outdoor lifestyle company, one of our core beliefs is to get out and enjoy earth. Sadly, the pandemic brought a new type of plastic pollution to the playgrounds that we are no longer allowed to visit. This forced us to reflect and rethink how we should operate in this new landscape. One of the biggest questions and decisions I had to make this year was whether or not we should launch our campaign this year, or to delay it until the pandemic got better. Were people still going to support Kickstarter projects at the peak of the pandemic? 

They say time flies when you are having fun. Surprisingly, this year went by the quickest. We've spent the year in the deep end focusing on what is most important - kind of like when you go camping and have the most terrible sleep, but it's still 'fun'! This year has also been the year where we have more time to ourselves. In a way, it has made us all stronger as individuals. We have more time to find new hobbies, discover hidden talents, focus within, and share precious time with loved ones. It created an opportunity for us to expand our capacity for compassion. Even apart, it has brought us closer together than ever before. 

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for supporting us this year. Your support brings affirmation to what we do as a new company with a big vision. I am so grateful that we are on this journey together and you guys have been here from the very beginning. The Kickstarter community is unique and I am thankful for you all. 

If we can get through this year, we can do anything!

Hello Trailblazers,

It's going to be a quick update this time because we're too busy...sending! The time has finally arrived. All our Daily-Tees are now in our warehouse. It took some time clearing customs but we are just glad that everything arrived safe and sound.

In the next few days, we'll be packing your rewards and sending them out at the end of each day. You should receive your tracking info by email in the next few days and we are aiming to ship out all the rewards by the end of next week.

If you have not completed your survey yet, please do so as soon as you can. Otherwise, we won't be able to process your rewards.

Happy November! Production Update #2 🙌

Hello Trailblazers!

We hope everyone is enjoying the Fall (to our Northern Hemisphere's backers) and Spring (to our Southern Hemisphere's backers) weather. The sun is still shining bright here in Hong Kong and it is finally getting cooler which makes for the perfect weather for some outdoor adventures. 

It is also the perfect time for us to provide another update! The factory is still in full force and we are keeping a close eye on the production line to make sure everything is running smoothly. As mentioned in our previous update, we have been requesting video recordings from our quality control manager as you can see below:

We would like to give a little shout out to our 'Enjoy Earth' packaging- before we make or design any products, we always think about how we can create something that is functional as well as keeping our overall footprint as small as possible. For our pin packaging- we ended up using a traditional match stick layout with a single die-cut method to prevent more material wastage compared to other designs such as a box with a more complex pattern that would use more material and space layout within one sheet of card. We are also using the same material as our hangtag which is made from 100% recycled paper, using no virgin material, which means no additional trees were harm in the making of this packaging! We are also proudly Climate Neutral certified which means we offset any carbon we produce within our operations. Even our water-based inks are eco-friendly! It might seem like just another packaging, but a lot of thoughts have gone into the process in which it was made. These are the hidden details we are super proud of and will keep striving to pioneer so that we can provide our backers with the most sustainable Trail Goods available today. New Production Timeline + New Product development 🏭

Hello Trailblazers! 

We hope everyone is keeping well and healthy. In the past few weeks, we have been working with our factory to get some new updates regarding where we are at with our production timeline. Due to some delays caused by Covid, we are now expecting to start delivery at the end of November. We are truly sorry about breaking this news to you all. To be honest, we really did not expect this pandemic to drag on for this long when we first estimated our original timeline. No one likes delays and we do not want to use Covid as an excuse either. We will learn from this and provide more initial information in the future about how the timeline might be affected if something like a pandemic occurs...not that we would want to experience something like this ever again! 

In other news, we have been developing some new products for our 2021 collection, and we would love to hear which product you would like us to release next for our Kickstarter campaign in 2021. Click on the link below to let us know which products we should release next!

Backerkit Survey + Production Update! 🏭

Hello Trailblazers!

Thank you so much for taking the time to fill in your Backerkit surveys this past week. It's been exciting to see which Daily-Tees you chose with various color and graphic customizations! 

Survey Update:

There are still a few of you (252 to be exact!) who have not filled in your survey yet. The last day to make final updates to your order is Oct 1st, 2020, 9pm EST. After this date, we will lock your reward selections and charge cards for add-on item purchases, pledge upgrades, and pre-orders. You may update your shipping address up until we lock addresses for shipping. If you haven’t answered your survey, or if you pay for extra shipping after the Oct 1st, 2020, 9pm EST order due date, we’ll still receive your information but your shipment may be delayed. If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email.

Production Update:

Our factory in Vietnam has been in full production mode for the past week and we have been keeping a close eye on things to ensure everything is running smoothly. Under normal circumstances, Joseph (our Head of Operation) and I would have been in Vietnam monitoring this process with the factory's management, but because of current travel restrictions, where we would end up in quarantine for a total of 28 days back to back, we have come up with alternative plans and strategies to overcome this particular challenge. To keep it short, we discussed everything down to the thread in extra clear detail in both verbal and written form. We made it clear that quality is the main priority and we have requested more frequent QC (quality control) checks from the factory to accommodate this. Communication is key and we have based our strategies around this.
